I know you’re full of chocolate and other Easter goods, but we have one more treat in store.
Yes, it’s the final little tidbit from Four Track Originals Vol. 2, the closing track ‘Pylon’.
This one had quite the development journey over about 6 months, moving from very slow and ambient, through ‘heart-wrenchingly moving’ (that’s what I’ve got written here), right through to its final state, which was a little more backbeaty.
Sometimes things pop out as is, and sometimes they need a bit of remodelling! Pylon also features a rather upfront guitar solo later in the track, which isn’t usual practice from us, but the inner David Gilmour will out now and again.
(For the guitar geeks and recording nerds out there, it’s an Eastman 330 type through Neural DSP Archetype: Cory Wong X)
Along with a moody track, there’s a dark, moody video. All I can say is keep away from the electricity, as those ’70s government ads used to scare us by saying.
Enjoy!
That concludes the jury’s work from Vol. 2. Will be back with more new tunes soon - will it be Vol. 3 or something different? Not sure yet, but you’ll be the first to find out!
In the meantime, if you like what you're hearing then get downloading or give us a wee bit of funding through Ko-Fi!
Graeme
